It is with profound sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved alumnus Johnny Grier. He earned his bachelor’s in business administration in 1987 and his master’s degree in 1993 from the University of the District of Columbia. Grier began his career as an NFL official in 1981 and retired in 2004, serving 23 years as the league’s first Black referee. We offer our deepest condolences to his family.
